The first in a series I am calling "Pocket Clauses"- this is Sid. He
measures in at 12" tall and stands on a 5 x 5 inch wood base. The
series title refers to the "pocket size" stature of these pieces as well as
the big, brimming pockets each will have on his costume.
The details incorporated into this piece make
him really extraordinary. We'll start with his wardrobe...
Sid is wearing a hooded cloak of
chenille fabric that has been distressed to look worn and old. He has
a number of hand sewn patches on the cloak and 3 large pockets.
His pants are a plaid micro suede in sepia tones. They are belted with a
piece of cord and also have several pockets containing little surprises for
his future owner to discover. A green, waffle knit top keep Sid
warm and toasty under his cloak. |

Part of my joy in creating any
art doll is in "writing" the story they will tell through their pose,
expression, and accessories. Sid's story is of the first snow fall of
the season. German glass glitter, pose, expression, all tell his
subtle story and the magic of the moment.
Sid also includes a number of
wonderful accessories including a fully jointed mini-teddy bear, wooden
train, pocket watch, and one of a kind walking stick.
His head is pose able and
his hood can be worn up or down.
