I am delighted to share Sven and Oli with you! This piece represent a very successful overseas cooperative effort in creativity. "Sven" the ice fishing Santa was created here in the states by me, artist Lisa Fronek of The Grand Father Claus. "Oli" the Polar bear was created and designed especially for use in this piece by Australian bear artist Sally Nichols. She did a fabulous job and I believe her style of bear making and it's realistic but whimsical balance is the perfect fit with my little gentlemen. The resulting piece has such a sense of humor and so many small details that photos do it little justice~ but I will do my best to describe it all! |

Sven is a 15" One of a kind art doll Santa with great, sweet, expression and a fabulous outfit. He is sculpted from Polymer Clay, has the highest quality soft glass eyes available which add to the glimmer and glee in his eyes. Sven's body is created on a wire frame, padded and needle sculpted for realistic contours. His one of a kind, artist designed outfit includes moleskin pants, fur vest, leather boots and mittens, along with a fur trimmed hat, which have kept him warm as he was ice fishing- the fur is the a wonderful quality faux with realistic sheen and feel. Tiny buttons on his shirt, seam detail on cuffs, boots, and pants add to the realism~ while tiny leather suspenders are just beneath the vest for his new family to delight in discovering. He is letting Oli know about the fish that he almost caught... "It was this big!" |

| "Oli" is created is high quality, white German mohair with gray suede eye detail and leather foot pads. Tiny, sculpted teeth and leather lined mouth all add to his unique and adorable expression. He is given furthercharacter by air brushed shading around his feet and face. Trimming of the mohair give him definition on his muzzle and more subtly in other areas. He is fully jointed including an extra joint that allows for that perfect tilt to his head! If you are not familiar with artist bears this guy is a fabulous example of the skill and creativity put into their rendering. Oli is a one of a kind created specifically for this piece by this delightful, award winning artist. He is wonderful and I so grateful to Sally for allowing me to add him to this scene! |

The 13 x 13" wooden base has been painted white and ice-like glass tiles have been attached to the wood base. The look of ice is enhanced with the addition of some paint treatments. A close look at the small metal bucket reveals tiny fish swimming below the surface. Sven's fishin' pole and lantern (which lights with a small battery!) complete this charming scene. Sven and Oli are secure on their base, but easily removable for storage (although you will never want to put them away!) You will love owning this truly unique and joyful piece. Lisa |
