The Wizard in Gray

From Artist Lisa Fronek

of The Grand Father Claus

We are surrounded by Wizards!  In books, movies and legends these mythical men have counseled us with kindness, hope, and great wisdom.  I am so pleased to offer this one of a kind art doll piece who represents all the aspects of wizardry and magic that have captured my imagination...

His wise and kind face and highly detailed hands are sculpted from polymer clay using no molds or patterns of any kind.  With great attention to detail his skin was given realistic and deep expression, texture and color.  The highest quality angora mohair was used on his beard and hair.

Standing 20" tall and created using a wire armature under a cloth body, great care is used to assure he is correct in pose, alive with movement, and rich with expression.  His head can be turned and tilted to achieve your preferred pose.

This Wizard in Gray is draped in layers of fabulous fabric.  From undergarments to flowing cloak, his costume is created in fine fabrics with rich texture, hand embroidery, and beading. It includes pants, tunic, under-gown, and hooded cloak all in shades of gray and silver.  His shoes are a soft, gray suede over sculpted feet.

The majority of his garments were hand sewn and represent hours upon hours of loving care to create just the right look and quality.

A close up of his facial features shows all the reasons that the idea of Wizards is so popular~  he is elegant and gentle, a very old soul. He is far-seeing and wise, weathered and weary, but stores of power are under the surface of his calm.  His wrinkles and expression show not only age but the depth of his care and concern.  Yet the gleam in his eye shows the hope and laughter that remains there also, and in great quantity...

I hope he stokes the fire of your imagination and will represent to you what he means to me... "hope in all things and in all time, and in all living souls."
